Our parents and citizens' association (P&C) is an important and integral part of the school. The P&C makes a valuable contribution to the success of many academic, cultural, sporting programs and special events at the school.
The P&C actively supports the interests of the school community by:
- bringing parents, community members and staff together in the development and planning of school activities
- providing the opportunity to raise any concerns affecting the school community
- giving parents the opportunity to learn about school policies and programs
- raising funds to assist in the provision of equipment, books, teaching aids and improvements to the school environment for the benefit of the students
How you can be involved
As a parent, you are the most influential factor in how your child views school and the community they're part of. Your involvement with their learning goes a long way towards your child becoming a capable, resilient and happy adult.
We invite you to come along and find out about your P&C. Your interest and enthusiasm is always welcomed. There are many different ways that you can support children and the school through P&C activities including:
- organising or helping with P&C run events
- attending meetings
- helping in the uniform shop or canteen
- organising school banking
- contributing to fundraising
- sharing your ideas
- using your skills and experience to help with working bees
- promoting the school and activities
- writing grant applications.
Whatever you are able to contribute, in whatever way is greatly appreciated by the school and the students.
P&C meetings
The school P&C meets on the Tuesday evening of Week 3 and 8 each school term.
Meetings are held in the school library commencing at 6:00pm. All parents and supporters are welcome to attend. Financial membership of the committee is $0.50 per year, which entitles you to vote on items raised. You do not need to be a financial member to attend.
Meeting minutes
If you would like a copy of the meeting minutes you can have them emailed to you. Leave your email address for the P&C Secretary at the school office or email woronorariverpandc@gmail.com
Fundraising
Our students are supported in a breadth of opportunities by the successful fundraising efforts of our volunteers. Fundraising activities (including grants) in the past have paid for classroom resources and technologies, refurbishments of classrooms and B&A centre, sporting equipment, air conditioning, playground games, relief support for teaching principal, state representative bursaries, representative uniforms and vegetable gardens.
