Religion and ethics

NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.

At Woronora River Public School we offer Special Reigious Education (SRE) options, including:

  • Catholic, provided by Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney. Lessons include activities that are fun and inclusive for students, whilst also providing them the opportunity to critically explore in depth their faith and to pray and reflect. Click here to view the cirriculum.
  • Combined Christian, provided by Anglican Diocese of Sydney, Australian Christian Churches, Baptist Union of NSW and Uniting Church in Australia (NSW & ACT Synod). Teachers are from local churches and give students the opportunity to ask questions, explore the Bible and discover the Good News of Jesus Christ and what it means to be a Christian in our world today. Lessons are age-appropriate, fun and inclusive. Click here to view the ciriculum.
  • Special Education in Ethics (SEE) is not currently provided at Woronora River Public School.  If you are interested in Ethics at school, more information can be found at Primary Ethics.

During the time SRE classes are being held, students not attending will be located in other classrooms and will participate in meaningful activities such as reading and independent learning tasks.

Visit the department’s website for more information about religion and ethics.
